Wild Willow Farm & Bakery started as a cherry orchard in Benton City in 2001, then added an apple orchard in Tieton, WA. To satisfy their desire for healthfully grown fruits and vegetables, the Davises added an organic vegetable farm in 2011 and sold CSA shares for the garden produce. The orchards have been sold and the vegetable garden went with the orchards.
Now, a long-enjoyed hobby has evolved into yet another phase of our food production businesses and probably my favorite. We started our “virtual” bakery in March 2015 to satisfy the serious need in Yakima for wholesome baked goods that are made right here with local ingredients when available. The ingredients are the highest quality we can find and chemical-free, using the same ingredients your grandmother used in her kitchen. That means no artificial flavors and no preservatives. Exceptions are fondant, gum paste and gel colors used in cake decoratiing.
As of this writing, we are not a walk-in bakery with displays of already-made baked goods for you to peruse. We are testing the market by inviting customers to order via phone or text at (509) 952-1709, or via e-mail. We do have a Facebook presence which you can find at Wild Willow Farm & Bakery. Best of all, this brand new website is an interactive shopping site where you can click on the baked goods you wish to order and they will go in your virtual shopping cart, you can pay via PayPal (no need to set up an account) or your credit card, and you will receive a delicious delivery when you tell us you need it.
Still under development are our soups, bottled sauces, bottled pie fillings and non-alcoholic beverages. Keep an eye out because we are definitely on the move.
